A voice mail message from today: “Hello Greg. This is (a ministry leader from Central Asia). I just wanted to call you and let you know that we have an emergency today in (a city in Central Asia). Twelve people were arrested. They were detained by the police for several hours. They let them all go, thank the Lord, but they will be called in individually later on. Please pray. We will write an appeal and make a statement.”
This kind of situation is a regular occurrence for Christians in many countries. It is not surprising to them. Just as in New Testament times, many Christian communities have come to expect this kind of harassment. Also, like the New Testament Christians, they learn to persevere and see persecution as a blessing that draws them to deeper levels of spiritual maturity.
Nevertheless, please pray for these dear ones who suffer greatly. Also, pray for their persecutors. Pray that Christ’s Kingdom of Peace will come to all the earth!
Hi Gregory,
I will pray and I sent the message on.
Thanks!
